Sarah contacted us regarding home renovation and damp issues in her home in Liss. During our inspection, we noticed that the property didn't have any air bricks installed to help with the venting of the suspended floors. Therefore, our first task was to install air bricks.
Air bricks are crucial because they ventilate the spaces above and below the floor. If dampness is detected early and treated, it usually only causes staining to the decoration. However, if damp is not treated immediately, it can lead to more severe problems such as wet or dry rot.
Upon further inspection, we discovered that several significant areas of the floors were rotten and needed to be renewed. This included new foundations for sleeper walls to support the new timber joists to take the floors. We then put all the pieces of the property back together, resulting in a great finish and a breathable property.
This was a great project for us, utilsiing our carpentry and plastering skills as well as working alongside some of our most trusted plumbing and electrical contractors.
